I honestly didn’t believe I would witness the utter flawlessness of a new Shania Twain album this life-time. Turns out, I was wrong! (Shaking and crying here clutching my ‘Come On Over‘ cassette y’all).
The iconic songstress supreme has just kicked off her new era by unveiling the name and cover art of her first album in 15 years – aptly titled ‘Now‘, dropping September 29th. The legendary diva has also unveiled the first single off the new project, a feel-good Country-Pop anthem titled ‘Life’s About To Get Good‘ – a clear swipe at her cheating ex-husband Robert ‘Mutt‘ Lange. The song’s quintessential Shania – enough to remind you why you fell in love with the Country-Pop phenomenon in the first place, and why 40 million of you went out and bought ‘Come On Over‘, the highest selling Country album of all time, as well as the highest selling album ever by a female artist!
‘Now‘ is Shania’s fifth studio album, and it follows her three consecutive mega-selling efforts including the Diamond certified ‘Up‘, the Double Diamond – certified ‘Come On Over‘ and the Diamond-certified ‘The Woman In Me‘.
In an age where the very concept of an album is almost non-existent, and music topping the Hot 100 is the sonic equivalent of a ruptured appendix – we’re lucky to have any new material at all by living legends such as Shania. Her voice feels like a warm, familiar embrace – and that’s what good music’s supposed to make you feel.
Welcome back, Queen! Can’t wait to hear what she has to offer this time around!
