Barbra Streisand Earns 11th Billboard # 1 Album, Britney Spears Debuts at # 3!

Do NOT underestimate the power of Ms Barbra Streisand in the streaming era!

With over 148,000 copies of ‘Encore : Movie Partners Sing Broadway‘ sold this week, a number which increases to over 149,000 when streaming/track equivalent units are included, the living legend bulldozes all competition out of the way to arrive at the # 1 spot on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Encore‘ becomes Ms Streisand’s 11th # 1 album on the charts – extending her reign as the female vocalist with the most # 1 albums in history. Fellow legends Madonna and Janet Jackson follow with 8 and 7 # 1 albums respectively. With 51 years, 10 months and 17 days since ‘People‘ arrived at # 1 on the chart – Ms Streisand extends her own record as the longest span between # 1 albums. She also remains the only artist in history to have # 1 albums in each of 6 consecutive decades! Bow down Queen, take a damn bow!

Ms Streisand’s historic d├ębut denies country duo Florida Georgia Line their second # 1 album, as ‘Dig Your Roots‘ arrives at # 2 with 145,000 units sold. Ms Britney Spears arrives at # 3 with her 10th studio album ‘Glory‘ with 110,000 units – a disappointing first week arrival considering the album really does have a lot to offer, and I’m not referring to the underwhelming lead single ‘Make Me‘. Can she just release ‘Do You Wanna Come Over?‘ as an official single already? And leave the falsetto-laced croons to The Weeknd? Also, Poutney needs to go.
