The humble backside rules supreme on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart this week – so does ovaries!

Pop newbie Meghan Trainor hits the jackpot with her début single ‘All About That Bass‘ which rules the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week in a row, fending off a rising Taylor Swift with her former # 1 ‘Shake It Off‘. Bass – a tribute to the butt – remains the highest selling song in the US this week, moving 312,000 downloads.

Trainor essentially leads a historic week which boasts of an exclusive all female top 5 – a feat achieved just 8 times in the past on the Hot 100.

Below Trainor, Taylor Swift’s former # 1 ‘Shake It Off‘ rises both on Radio and sales, in a bid to reclaim the # 1 spot from Trainor. Although with Bass gaining on Radio as well, chances are that it may fend off Shake for another week easily.

Below Swift, Mizz Nicki Minaj unleashes her ‘Anaconda‘ at # 3 – the second song to glorify the booty within the top 3 of the Hot 100. The song simultaneously crowns the Hot Hip-Hop/R’n’B Songs and Hot Rap Songs for a fourth week after dethroning Iggy Azalea’s lengthy reign with ‘Fancy‘ featuring Charli XCX. ‘Anaconda‘ is the first of two chart position that Minaj holds within the top 5 – she owns the throne y’all!

Speaking of Azalea, Miss I.G.G.Y notches her 3rd consecutive top 5 smash in less than 2 months as her second official single ‘Black Widow‘ featuring UK Pop starlet Rita Ora rises to # 4 this week – a new peak. Widow follows her own # 1 smash ‘Fancy‘, as well as her collaboration on Ariana Grande’s ‘Problem‘ which peaked at # 2 simultaneously. Clearly, the year belongs to Mizz Azalea!

And of course, speaking of Grande – the ex-Disney star and rising Diva is the second artist this week to boast of two entries in the top 10, the first of which is the runaway smash ‘Bang Bang‘ with British diva Jessie J and rapstress supreme Mizz Nicki Minaj that occupies the # 5 spot. The top 5 thus boats exclusively of seven female artists – a feat last seen in March 1999 – when the top 5 consisted of Cher, Whitney Houston featuring Kelly Price and Faith Evans, Monica, Mariah Carey and Sarah MacLachlan.
