Katy Perry ‘Roars’ Her Way Up To # 1 On The UK Top 40 Singles Chart!

There’s really no stopping Mizz Katy Perry this era y’all!

Last week, Perry’s ‘Roar‘ finally ended Robin Thicke’s reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Blurred Lines‘ after an insane 12 consecutive weeks. This week, Perry has officially taken over the UK!

With over a massive 179,500 units sold, Katy Perry’s ‘Roar‘ blasts in at # 1 on the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart this week, dethroning Ellie Goulding’s ‘Burn‘ after a 3-week reign at the penthouse.

Roar‘ thus becomes Perry’s fourth # 1 single in the UK, earning her the highest first-week sales of her career!

Roar‘ precedes Katy’s third studio album ‘Prism‘, scheduled for release on October 22 and follows her record-setting 2010 release ‘Teenage Dreams‘ which spawned 7 top 10 hits, 5 of which topped the Billboard Hot 100 equaling Michael Jackson’s record, while just remaining shy of sister Janet Jackson’s record of 7 top 5 hits from one album (1989’s ‘Rhythm Nation 1814‘) – something she might be gunning for with ‘Prism‘.
