A new Fergie video – well I can’t even!
Remember how back in 2006 Fergie ruled the galaxy with her utterly massive solo début smash ‘The Dutchess‘? You know, the album which spawned 5 consecutive Billboard top 5 hits, including three # 1 singles, and sold over 7 million units worldwide?
And then she went back to the Black Eyed Peas and let Will.I.Am snort all over her flaw-free vocals to create ‘Boom Boom Pow‘ and ‘I Gotta Feeling‘ – massive hits of course – but the world could KILL for some Will.I.Am free Fergie y’all!
Not following up on a global smash like ‘The Dutchess‘, as well as her success with The Black Eyed Peas is seriously criminal. Especially when people tend to forget who you are if you take prolonged breaks in between albums – ask Nelly Furtado.
Thankfully though, Fergie’s been releasing an occasional single just to keep reminding us that she’s still as Fergalicious as she was back then, and with her latest video for the single ‘A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)‘ from the soundtrack of the movie The Great Gatsby, Fergie proves that even with a bun in the oven, she’s still got enough swag to slay.
The video, shot in L.A’s Emerson Theatre, features some high-energy club action, including some fancy vogue-ing with Fergie playing a flapper girl. Rapper Q-Tip’s verses sound flawlessly smooth and blends in very well with the dance floor-ready jam.
I feel they should have released the track earlier to pep up the soundtrack a bit – I mean I love Lana Del Rey’s ‘Young And Beautiful‘, but seriously, aren’t we all depressed enough already? Ugh.
Fergie, bring on the solo fierceness now please?
