Black Sabbath Creates UK Chart History As ’13’ Debuts At # 1, Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ Crosses Half Million Sales Mark!


Veteran Heavy Metal act Black Sabbath creates UK Chart history this week as ‘13‘, the band’s brand new album arrives at # 1 on the Official UK Top 40 Albums Chart this week, an incredible 43 years after the band last graced the penthouse. The legendary band thus breaks Bob Dylan’s chart record – 38 years in between # 1 albums on the UK Top 40 – when he set the record in 2009 with ‘Together Through Life‘. Black Sabbath’s last # 1 was in October 1970, when their sophomore album ‘Paranoid‘ peaked at the top spot.

Over at the UK Top 40 Singles Chart, R’n’B smooth crooner Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines‘ feat. Pharrell and TI sells over an insane 190,000 units for the third week in a row, crossing over 583,000 units in sales after spending just 3 weeks at # 1. The song thus becomes the 5th highest selling single of 2013 in the UK, and at the rate at which the song is selling, it might just become the biggest seller of the year very soon indeed.
