As expected, French electronic duo Daft Punk roars in at # 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart with their 4th studio album ‘Random Access Memories‘ after shifting a whopping 339,000 units of the album last week in the US. After setting a record for first week streams on Spotify, and following success of their first-ever top 10 in the US ‘Get Lucky‘ (up from # 10 – # 4 this week on the Hot 100), the inevitable # 1 isn’t exactly a surprise.

Random Access Memories‘ thus boasts of the second largest sales-week for an album this year, bested only by Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience‘, and leads a slew of new entries arriving in the top 10, including Darius Ruckers’ ‘True Believers‘ (# 2), the Nationals’ ‘Trouble Will Find Me‘ (# 3), French Montana’s ‘Excuse My French‘ (# 4) and Thirty Seconds To Mars’ ‘Love Lust Faith + Dreams‘ (# 6).

Over at the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis occupy the penthouse for a 4th week with ‘Can’t Hold Us‘ featuring Ray Dalton.
