Get those bikini bods ready y’all – summertime’s officially here!
It’s that time of the year when the airwaves get saturated with salaciously summery reggae-laced mid-tempo jams – ushering in the most naked season of the year, and of course Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion has decided that he’s totally fit to jump aboard the reggae train, with MILEY CYRUS in tow (?!).
Wait, Snoop Lion and Miley Cyrus? On a summer jam?
Firstly, y’all have got to hear Miley. For the millions of you smirking at (and then secretly jamming to) Miley’s teenage rants on her innumerable ‘Hannah Montana‘ albums as well as her baby steps to adulthood with her Britney-esque ‘Can’t Be Tamed‘, Miley Cyrus has officially grown up!
‘Ashtrays And Heartbreaks‘ is a brand new single from Snoop Dogg’s upcoming 12th studio album ‘Reincarnated‘ scheduled for release on the 23rd of April, and the decision to include Miley Cyrus as a guest vocalist is possible the best thing Snoop has done in a long time.
The chilled out summery mid-tempo jam produced by Major Lazer and Ariel Rechtshaid flows rather smoothly, with Miley’s rasp-tinged vocals blending in perfectly with Snoop’s verses as he subtly croons –
“Tonight, there’s going to be a whole lot of smoke in the air,
Blow it on for the ones who ain’t here,”
Looks like we need to watch out for Miley’s new project – her most ambitious till date – scheduled for release later this year. The hip-hop Miley is not playing games y’all, especially since a collaboration with Mary J Blige is tipped to be on the album (it doesn’t get better than this!).
Bring it on Miley!
