Bon Jovi Tops Billboard 200, Pink Earns 14th Hot 100 Top Ten Hit!

Jimi Hendrix, Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, David Bowie ALL in the top 10 together? In the same week? It just happened y’all!

They lost out on the # 1 spot on the UK Charts earlier this week to legend David Bowie – but across the pond, and atop the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, one of THE most influential bands of all time have Mr Bowie bowing out comfortably at # 2.

Veteran rockers Bon Jovi earn their 5th Billboard # 1 album as ‘What About Now‘ roars in atop the Billboard 200 Albums Chart with sales of 101,000 units this week in the US. The album also becomes the act’s 12th consecutive top 10 hit – dating back to 1986’s ‘Slippery When Wet‘  (their third studio effort which eventually sold an astounding 28 million units worldwide after becoming their first # 1 album on the Billboard Charts), as well as the iconic band’s 3rd consecutive arrival at the penthouse following 2007’s ‘Lost Highway‘ and 2009’s ‘The Circle‘.

David Bowie’s ‘The Next Day‘ arrives at # 2 with sales of over 85,000 units this week. Not too bad considering that the album – his 11th top 10 hit – becomes his highest charting album ever on the Billboard Charts. Bowie is yet to place an album at the coveted # 1 spot – until today his highest charting album was 1976’s ‘Station To Station‘ which peaked at # 3.

Over at the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, Baauer’s ‘Harlem Shake‘ continues its reign for a 5th consecutive week . I’ll truly never understand how, or why. It’s a fun ‘song’, but seriously, 5 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100? I can’t even.

Thankfully, pop icon Pink notches her 14th Hot 100 top 10 as ‘Just Give Me A Reason‘ featuring Fun. front-man Nate Ruess jumps 9 places up to # 9 this week – the 3rd consecutive top 10 hit from her global # 1 album ‘The Truth About Love‘. It’s good to see Pink receive the love that has been denied to her since forever. Almost a decade and a half in the game – the girl’s going stronger than ever.
