I’m as big a fanatic of the country Kellegendary Clarkson as I am of her flaw-free pop/rock avatar. Ever since the original (and by far the best) American Idol lent her impressive set of pipes to country queen Reba McEntire’s version of ‘Because Of You‘, the world has quite literally never been the same again.
What followed was a relentless slay-age of both the country as well as the pop charts by the ‘Since You Been Gone‘ chanteuse, notching up # 1 singles on both the Billboard Country Songs Chart as well as the Hot 100 over the past 3 years.
With less than a fortnight to go for the release of her first compilation, ‘Greatest Hits – Chapter 1‘, scheduled for a November 16th release – Mizz Clarkson unveils the official country single from the album, ‘Don’t Rush‘ featuring country crooner Vince Gill. The song is one of the 3 new singles included on the album, apart from the uptempo first single ‘Catch My Breath‘ and ‘People Like Us‘, as well as some of the biggest hits of her decade-long career.
‘Don’t Rush‘ is a Dan Huff-produced breezy uplifting country-pop jam written by Blu Sanders, Natalie Hemby and Lindsay Chapman, that finds Kelly displaying approximately perfect vocals. Vince Gill joins Kelly on the addictive chorus as their vocals soar and compliment each other. I love it, and I’m glad Kelly’s going places by daring to dabble in genres out of her comfort-zone.
I wonder why Kelly’s yet to release an all-out country album.
