The mighty Adelegend (and not just cuz she’s preggers y’all) has decided to grace us with a new song this year, her first new recording since her giganti-platinum sophomore smash ‘21‘ – which remains 2012’s highest selling album, apart from already slaying 2011 in terms of EVERYTHING. And the song just happens to be the theme for the latest Bond flick ‘Skyfall‘. Commence mass hysteria.
The song ‘Skyfall‘ will premiere on the 5th of October at 00.07 London time (that’s 4th October for the US), and will be available on iTunes immediately afterwards, and can already be pre-ordered now. Produced by Paul Epworth, the track boasts of a 77-piece orchestra, backing the most powerful instrument one may music in witness as of now, Adele’s irresponsibly impressive set of pipes.
Adele released a statement regarding the recording –
“I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for ‘Skyfall’. There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end. It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I’ve never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I’m sure!”
Just in case you’re not trembling, seizing and shivering already, here’s a thoroughly flaw-free life-altering snippet of arguably THE most anticipated song of 2012.
