The Killers, The Script Dominate UK Top 40, Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ Zooms Up Charts!

Time to check out what’s happening across the pond y’all. American rockers The Killers earn their 4th UK # 1 album as ‘Battle Born‘ arrives at the penthouse of the Official UK Top 40 Albums Chart, selling 94,000 units this week. With over 4.5 million albums sold in the UK alone, each of the band’s studio albums have topped the UK Top 40 – including 2004’s ‘Hot Fuss‘, 2006’s ‘Sam’s Town‘ and 2008’s ‘Day And Age‘.


Pop titan Pink makes some major noise on these shores, as her 6th studio album ‘The Truth About Love‘ arrives at # 2, selling over 80,000 copies in the UK this week. Pink also stays put at # 5 on the UK Top 40 Singles Chart with ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)‘, while ‘Greatest Hits..So Far‘ re-enters the albums chart at # 34, thus spending a total of an astounding 87 weeks on the charts till date! Although she missed the # 1 spot here, Pink is all set for global domination this week, as ‘The Truth About Love‘ has debuted at # 1 in Australia, being certified double-platinum already – and she’s all set to début atop the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for the first time as the album is projected to sell over 230,000 units in the US by this week. She thus has the # 1 spot booked on the United World Charts later this week. You go Miss Alecia Moore! Nobody does it quite like you!

Over at the Official Top 40 Singles Chart, Irish rockers The Script’s ‘Hall Of Fame‘ featuring Will.I.Am spends a second week at # 1, fending off South London rapper Example’s ‘Say Nothing’ after a fierce chart battle for the top spot this week.

This week’s major chart moves arrive in the form of a certain K-Pop phenomenon Psywhose global craze ‘Gangnam Style‘ zooms up a massive 34 spots up to # 3 this week. The single, the video for which has garnered an astonishing 262 million hits on YouTube within 2 months of its release, has yet to be officially released in the UK. Looks like the UK is all set to get its first K-Pop # 1 very soon indeed!
