John Mayer, Gotye Continue Billboard Chart Dominance, Rihanna Notches 22nd Top 10 Single!

It’s honestly getting a little boring here at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart y’all. For an 8th consecutive week, a very naked Gotye and Kimbra refuse to budge from the # 1 spot with their cult lament ‘Somebody That I Used To Know‘. Break-up songs – Jeez – they literally dominate everything. Just ask Adele.

Carly Rae Jepsen’s ridiculously addictive single ‘Call Me Maybe‘ stays put at # 2 for another week, and chances are that she might topple Gotye from # 1 probably by next week, as the track gains audience impressions on the Radio Songs Chart while already being the most downloaded song in the US for another week, crowning the Digital Songs Chart with sales of 284,000 digital copies.

Maroon 5 featuring Wiz Khalifa’s ‘Payphone‘ is a non-mover at # 3, and the song might just be a contender for the # 1 spot overtaking Jepsen next week, as ‘Payphone‘ remains ahead of ‘Call Me Maybe‘ in terms of airplay, while remaining right behind the song in terms of digital sales.

Rihanna continues her relentless reign on the Billboard Charts as ‘Where Have You Been‘ finally enters the top 10, moving up from # 11 to # 9, thus becoming her 22nd top 10 hit! She trails behind Madonna with 38 top 10 hits, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey with 27 each, and the late Whitney Houston with 23, among female vocalists.

Over at the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, John Mayer’s ‘Born And Raised‘ remains at the penthouse for a 2nd week in a row, selling 65,000 copies this week. And Adele’s ‘21‘ is at # 2 yet again, with sales of 58,000 copies this week. What a surprise.

Yay for Songstress supreme Regina Spektor, who debuts at # 3 with her new album ‘What We Saw From The Cheap Seats‘, selling 42,000 copies this week.
