Kelly Clarkson’s 3rd single ‘Dark Side‘ from her Billboard # 2 peaking 5th studio album ‘Stronger‘ just got the video treatment, and this one’s a clear winner. Kelly isn’t playing this time around, as both her previous singles from the album peaked within the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, with the second single ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)‘ reaching # 1.
The new video deals with issues ranging from drug and alcohol abuse, weight issues, marital problems and unemployment, and ends on an inspirational and hopeful note. Way to go Kelly! It’s always great to see a video that delivers a message of acceptance irrespective of your flaws, and deals with the fact that nobody’s perfect. Over a decade in the bizness, and she’s churning out more quality stuff than most of her contemporaries as well as peers, and this era seems to be shaping up into another ‘Breakaway‘ era, when she dominated the global charts with a relentless release of hit singles from her 2004 sophomore album, eventually winning 2 Grammy’s and moving a whopping 13 million copies of the album worldwide, the highest selling album by an American Idol globally. Undoubtedly the best American Idol out there, along with Carrie Underwood.
‘Stronger‘ has already moved over 780,000 copies in the US since its release. I’d highly recommend you buy it, if you haven’t already. Watch the video for ‘Dark Side‘ right here :
