Carly Rae Jepsen, Jack White Top UK Charts!

For  a 4th consecutive week , Canadian Idol alumni Carly Rae Jepsen dominates the UK Top 40 Singles Chart with her ridiculously addictive listen-and-it-sticks-inside-your-head single ‘Call Me Maybe‘, selling another 100,000 copies of the single this week! Definitely one of my fave songs this year (so far), and on track to become one of the biggest selling singles of the year in the UK with over 434,000 copies sold since its release 5 week ago.

Carly’s chart triumph forces Scottish singer/songwriter/producer Calvin Harris to début at # 2 with his brand new single ‘Let’s Go‘ feat. Ne-Yo.

Jessie J creates history with her 6th single ‘Laserlight‘ featuring David Guetta, as she becomes the first British female solo vocalist to have 6 consecutive top 10 hits from one album, as ‘Laserlight‘ remains a non-mover at # 5. Her previous hits include the # 1 singles ‘Price Tag‘ featuring B.o.B and ‘Domino‘, the # 2 peaking ‘Do It Like A Dude‘, the # 8 peaking title track ‘Who You Are‘ and the # 9 peaking ‘Nobody’s Perfect‘. Her début album ‘Who You Are‘ spends a whopping 61 weeks on the UK Top 40 Albums Chart this week, coming in at # 8.

Meanwhile Jack White of The White Stripes debuts at # 1 with his solo début album ‘Blunderbuss‘, pushing Adele’s ‘21‘ to # 2 on the albums chart this week.

The only other new entry within the top 10 comes in the form of American-Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright’s 7th studio album ‘Out Of The Game‘, which debuts at # 5 this week.
