Stuck In My Head : Karmin’s ‘Brokenhearted’

Could Karmin NOT look so perfect every time they release a new video? Not only are they the pin-up couple of cute, they go ahead and release a video in which they actually try and pretend to appear not-so-perfect. Aww! Irrespective of their new video throwing shade at their picture-perfect life, the second single by Karmin, aka Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan who rose to fame with their YouTube covers of every video possible, titled ‘Brokenhearted‘ is an insanely catchy summery pop number that’s definitely Top 40 Radio-worthy, way better than their début single ‘Crash Your Party‘. Not too different from what’s around on the scene already, ‘Brokenhearted‘ sounds like something that might have come off from a Katy Perry-Nicki Minaj collaboration album, although without the sleaze or potty-mouthed expletives that usually adorn Nicki’s verses.

Amy’s rap skills are enough to make this song a summer smash, and it’s commendable how she effortlessly transitions from exuberant vocals to ferocious rap verses in the song. ‘Brokenhearted‘ will be included in Karmin’s début album ‘Hello‘ scheduled for a summer release this year, and currently sits at # 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 just 4 weeks after its release.
