Military Wives, Gotye Top UK Charts, Nicki Minaj Inches Closer To # 1

Gotye continues his triumphant dominance of the UK Top 40 Singles Chart for a 5th non-consecutive week with his official worldwide smash ‘Somebody That I Used To Know‘ featuring Kimbra, despite stiff competition from Nicki Minaj and Alexandra Burke. The track also becomes the first single of 2012 to officially cross sales of over 500,000 copies in the UK.

Nicki Minaj inches closer to the top of the singles chart with ‘Starships‘ at # 2. The single continues making history as the highest charting single by a solo female rapper, and it looks like Nicki might just be the first female rapper in history to top the UK Top 40 Singles Chart with a solo single next week.

2008 X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke debuts at # 3 with her new single ‘Elephant‘ featuring Erick Morillo.
