One Direction, Adele In A Race For # 1 On Next Week’s Billboard 200

It’s official. Boy-bands are  back! And if sales prediction for next week’s Billboard 200 are anything to go by, Miss Adelegend might just have to stay put at # 2 after this week’s onslaught by Bruce Springsteen. X-Factor UK alumni One Direction’s début album ‘Up All Night‘ is racing ahead of Adele’s ‘21‘ with predicted sales of  160,000  to 180,000 copies this week, while ‘21‘ may sell around 150,000 to 160,000.

If the pre-pubescent fellas of One Direction, namely Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson hit # 1, they’ll create history as the only UK group to début at # 1 with their first album. Not even The Beatles have managed that!

The band’s lead single ‘What Makes You Beautiful‘ moves up 6 places to # 44 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

So here we go again. Wasn’t Justin Bieber enough? The world really is ending. 2012 etc. I’m growing older. Hand me my bed-pan.

SIGH!
