It’s official y’all, Shania Twain is slowly but surely making her foray back into music!
If there’s anybody completely free of any flaw at all in country music, it’s the impossibly amazing Shania Twain. After almost an 8 year hiatus from music primarily due to the end of her 18-year-old marriage to producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange who cheated on her with her best friend, the ‘You’re Still The One‘ crooner seems to be ready to reclaim the throne that she walked away from at the peak of her career. Her last studio album was 2002’s ‘Up‘, which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. And now almost a decade later, Shania’s slowly making her presence felt again. Last year, she collaborated with Michael Buble for ‘White Christmas‘ on his ‘Christmas‘ album, and now she collaborates on Lionel Richie on the remake of his classic ‘Endless Love‘, which is set to appear on his new album of covers and duets with country vocalists, titled ‘Tuskagee‘. Listen to the new collaboration right here :
Although the original version of the song, which has been ranked as the greatest duet of all time by Billboard Magazine, had the supreme icon Diana Ross, Shania Twain brings about an undeniable freshness to the song. It’s so amazing to hear her voice again!
For her worldwide legion of loyal fans patiently waiting for a new album for over a decade now, this comes as a pleasant surprise! Considering Shania’s legacy, which includes the biggest selling album of all time by a female vocalist (‘Come On Over‘ has sold over 40 million units worldwide), I’m pretty sure a new Shania album will create mayhem!
