Nelly Furtado Returns On K’naan’s ‘Is Anybody Out There?’

It’s been six incredibly long years since Nelly Furtado unleashed the phenomenon that was ‘Loose‘, her flawless 3rd English studio album. 2006 saw a relentless onslaught of singles by the Canadian chanteuse which essentially topped every chart worldwide, from the insanely catchy beats of the Timbaland produced ‘Promiscuous Girl‘, to the raw snarl of ‘Maneater‘, to the melancholy of ‘All Good Things Come To An End‘. The album was packed with instant classics, and it went on to sell over 10 million copies worldwide, topping both the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and the UK Top 40 Albums Chart.

The ‘I’m Like A Bird‘ songstress supreme is back in the studio after her 6 year hiatus, working on her highly anticipated 4th studio album tentatively titled ‘T.S.I‘, scheduled for a summer release. And probably as a teaser of what to expect, Nelly unveils a killer collaboration with rapper K’naan on his new single ‘Is Anybody Out There?‘ from his new EP ‘More Beautiful Than Silence‘. The song is pretty much an anthem for all the under-dogs, as well as for anybody who’s had to deal with alienation and loneliness, and the video’s slightly reminiscent of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful‘.
