Adele’s ’21’ Tops Billboard 200 For A 22nd Week, Whitney Houston Dominates Top 10 With 3 Albums

Another week, another new Adele record! Adele’s sophomore set ‘21‘ now becomes the longest running # 1 album on the Billboard 200 since Prince And The Revolution’s ‘Purple Rain‘ soundtrack, which spent 24 weeks at # 1 back in 1984-85. Selling another 297,000 copies this week, ‘21‘ tops the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for a 22nd week, taking the total sales of  ‘21‘ to 7.65 million units in the US alone!

Additionally, Adele’s ‘19‘ spends another week in the top 10, slipping 4-7 this week, selling another 39,000 copies in its 123rd week on the chart.

The late Whitney Houston has 3 albums dominating the top 10 of the Billboard 200 this week, with ‘Whitney : The Greatest Hits‘ staying put at # 2, ‘The Bodyguard‘ soundtrack at # 6 and her 1985 début album ‘Whitney Houston‘ at # 9.

Fun. debuts at # 3 with their sophomore album ‘Some Nights‘ selling 70,000 copies this week, mainly due to the success of their single ‘We Are Young‘ featuring Janelle Monae.
