Miss Adelegend’s at it again. In what seems to be an irony of fate, Adele’s ‘21‘ tops the Billboard 200 Album’s Chart for an unprecedented 20th week, equaling the 20 week reign unleashed by the late Whitney Houston’s ‘The Bodyguard‘ soundtrack in 1992-93, the very same week the legend’s voice was silenced forever. Whitney herself makes a major splash on the Billboard 200 as the world still recovers from her untimely death.
Spurred by a huge boost in sales cuz of Adele’s slaying at the Grammy’s, ‘21‘ sold another 237,000 copies this week, causing veteran rockers Van Halen’s new album ‘A Different Kind Of Truth‘ to début at # 2 with 187,000 copies.
And that’s not enough for Adele. Her début album ‘19‘ reaches a new peak on the charts, soaring in at # 9, out doing its previous peak of # 10.
The late Whitney Houston makes a huge impact on the charts with her ‘Whitney : The Greatest Hits‘ collection debuting at # 6 with 64,000 copies sold within just one day of her tragic passing. 6 of her albums re-enter the Billboard 200 Albums Chart this week, and is sure to reach the upper ranks of the chart once a full week of sales has been accounted for next week.
