Kelly Clarkson Tops Billboard Hot 100, Adele’s ’21’ Spends 19th Week At # 1!

BEGIN HYPERVENTILATING NOW

In a week packed with some INSANELY MAJOR chart action, Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)’, the second single from her new album ‘Stronger’ douses the untouchable Adelegend’s fire as it blasts to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 displacing Adele’s ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ from # 1, becoming the original American Idol’s 3rd topper! Way to go Kelly!

In the meantime Mizz Adelegend shows absolutely no sign of slowing down as ’21’ stays at # 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for an unprecedented 19 weeks, a run which could very well continue for another few weeks considering the fact that Adele is finally making her first post-surgery appearance on the coveted Grammy stage. And with 6 nominations and being a front-runner for all the major categories, I won’t be surprised if ’21’ and ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ have an extended run at # 1.

After just 3 days of digital availability and receiving an unprecedented airplay during one of the most watched event in the history of American TV, the Queen of quite literally the entire cosmos Madonna debuts at # 13 with her latest single ‘Give Me All Your Luvin” feat MIA and Nicki Minaj. The single, which previews her feverishly awaited 12th studio album ‘MDNA’ scheduled for release on March 26th,  sold a whopping 115,000 downloads in just 3 days and becomes her 56th entry on the Hot 100, tying her with living legend Dionne Warwick for the second most chart entries, bested only by the Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin with 73 entries so far.

Nicki Minaj on the other hand is just about EVERYWHERE. Apart from guesting on Madonna’s single, and being announced as a Grammy performer this Sunday (I CANNOT POSSIBLY WAIT), Nicki just announced that she’ll be performing 2 new singles at the show, namely ‘Roman Holiday’ and ‘Starships’, from her sophomore album ‘Pink Friday : Roman Reloaded‘ scheduled for an April 3rd release. Nicki and David Guetta’s ‘Turn Me On’ remains at # 5 on the Hot 100.

Flaw-free chanteuse Jessie J celebrates a new high on the Hot 100 with her former UK # 1 single ‘Domino’ earning a new peak of # 6. Definitely my fave song by her so far.

The it-flavor of the season Lana Del Rey blasts in at # 2 with her début album ‘Born To Die’, selling over 77,000 copies in its first week on the Billboard 200.
