Neo-Soul Queen Jill Scott wants you to make babies. Well, maybe not you, but a whole lotta other people out there ready to get it on with their loved ones (or not so loved ones, it depends on a whole lotta morally complicated things that I’d rather not discuss here).
Her second single ‘So Gone (What My Mind Says)’ featuring Paul Wall from her Billboard # 1 album ‘The Light Of The Sun’ got the video treatment, and Jill’s gone all seductive and lonely for the video, venting her frustrations out in her trademark warm, inviting and earthy style, letting her womanliness ooze may-jah chutzpah, while the subtle orchestration flows effortlessly with her flaw-free moans. Why not check it out here before you suddenly get busy doing very amazing things?
It’s royally unfair that ‘The Light Of The Sun’ was deprived of any Grammy nominations this year, especially cuz Jill already has 3 Grammy’s to her name. Her stunning Soul-Jazz vocals as well as her unique style of blending singing and conversing is what truly represents the sound of modern R’n’B/Soul, which unfortunately the Grammy committee seems to have completely overlooked. Doesn’t speak too highly of the awards which seem to loose its sheen with every passing year.
