David Nail Earns His First # 1 With ‘Let It Rain’

Attention. Kleenex Alert.

There’s NO better formula to get your single to # 1 than to write a song that’s an effective self-loathing pity party involving cheating and heartbreak. Hence it’s no wonder that David Nail ‘nails’ (pardon the pun) his first # 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart after being in the bizness for almost a decade, as his power-ballad ‘Let It Rain’ ascends to # 1 this week.

And to give him some credit, David delivers. His personalized melancholy, brilliant vocals and the solid production is what makes the song a winner. And with lyrics like “Seven years of good can’t hide the one night I forgot to wear that ring” you’re bound to go all emo. Another major plus point is country crooner Sarah Buxton’s distinct earthy and rich background vocals that complement David’s booming voice. The video gives away quite a few details about what exactly might have happened in David’s life. Watch it below.

‘Let It Rain’ is available on David’s new album ‘The Sound Of A Million Dreams’ which was released in November 2011.
