Stuck In My Head : Medina’s ‘Lonely’

ATTENTION! FIERCE DANCE MUSIC ALERT! STOP BREATHING!

Winner of the 2011 TV Europe VMA Award for the Best Danish Act, dance/pop chanteuse Medina is no stranger to the top of the charts in Europe. Her Danish language singles from her thoroughly impressive 2008 début album ‘Velkommen til Medina’ have pretty much werqued the chart circuit in Denmark and have reached platinum or multi-platinum status.

Thankfully for the rest of the world yearning to understand the meaning of her songs, fear not! Medina’s such an impossibly amazing woman that she released her first English language album ‘Welcome To Medina’ in 2010, and the album includes the English versions of her 4 Danish singles from her début album, including the criminally amazing ‘Lonely’, which is the English version of her Danish hit ‘Ensom’.

‘Lonely’ just has everything that’s needed for a song to be staggeringly worthy of the dance floor. Alarmingly catchy, yet not over produced, the beats are a killer. Mizz Medina looks so darn delicious in the video, and you can almost cut through the pain and vulnerability that’s palpable through her lyrics. Hmm..dance music with a lil’ soul?? YUSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

Expect this one to feature high on my year-end list of favorite dance songs.

NOW DANCE, Y’ALL RUMP SHAKIN’ PEEPS.
