Diva Domination At The 2011 American Music Awards, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Adele Rule!

Lets sing it up for the ladies y’all, it was a night of S-L-A-Y-I-N-G by the women ruling the game at the 2011 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night! Judging by the year this has been in music, were you expecting anything different? (duh)

Every leading diva in the game today was honored last night, except for the surprise exclusion of Lady Gaga. Taylor Swift was the biggest winner of the night with 3 wins, including the coveted Artist Of The Year, taking her entire career haul of American Music Awards to a perfect 10.

Nicki Minaj solidified her position as the new Queen Of Hip-Hop/Rap with 2 wins including Best Hip-Hop/Rap Artist and Best Hip-Hop/Rap Album and gave a fantastic opening performance of her multi-platinum global smash ‘Superbass’ and the David Guetta collaboration ‘Turn Me On’.

Adele continued slaying as usual, with 2 expected wins, Favorite Pop/Rock Vocalist Female and Favorite Pop/Rock Album for her record-breaking sophomore smash ’21’, which has just crossed global sales of an unprecedented 12 million units.Beyonce took home the award for Best Soul/R’n’B Vocalist Female for ‘4’, while Rihanna was awarded the Best Soul/R’n’B Album for ‘Loud’.

Jennifer Lopez capped off a super-successful return to form this year with the win for Best Latin Artist, and gave a stunning rendition of her global smashes ‘Papi’ and ‘On The Floor’.

Katy Perry was given a special Award Of Achievement for becoming the first female vocalist and the only other artist apart from Michael Jackson to achieve five # 1 singles from one album.
