I have every reason to be obsessed with Mizz Nicki Minaj. The sheer variety of faces she makes while she wears everything from a chicken wing to the toilet seat is enough for the world to collectively sit up and take notice! And lets not forget her wig collection which is in DESPERATE need of a separate Twitter account! She does create great music as well, but we’ll not go there as of now.
So for her latest look in W Magazine, Nicki’s gone all Mona Lisa in an 18th Century motif shot by Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli. Check out the damn cover people (drooooooooooooollll)!
According to Vezzoli, “In her performances, Minaj makes very explicit and challenging use of her beauty and her body, so I thought of comparing her to some of the most famous courtesans in history: the Marquise de Montespan, Comtesse du Barry, Madame de Pompadour, and Madame Rimsky-Korsakov.”
Bravo!! This is amazing…especially since the lines ‘can’t you hear that boom badoom boom boom badoom boom bass’ from Nicki’s epic global smash ‘Superbass‘ TOTALLY reminds me of the French Renaissance.
Kudos to Nicki for promoting the incredibly interesting subject of History as well. At least peeps get to know who these greats were through Miss Minaj.
And might I add that Nicki’s looking quite amazing! You go girl! Although personally I totally ADORE Nicki’s wig collection. ANYTHING to see those hawt babies on her head! Especially the one she wore to the Grammy’s this year. That one totally deserved the damn Nobel Prize!
Conclusion: Nicki Minaj + History Lessons + Fashion = Superfun!
