Lady Antebellum, Moves Like Jagger Top Billboard Charts

Hooray for good music! As much as I enjoy rap music, Lil’ Wayne’s auto-tuned electro-rap gets on my nerves after a coupla listens. Hence I couldn’t have been happier when Lady Antebellum’s third album ‘Own The Night‘ stormed in at # 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart this week selling a massive 347,000 copies, pushing Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter 4‘ to # 3 after spending 2 weeks at the penthouse. Songstress supreme Adele displays an incredible staying power as ‘21‘ stays at # 2, solidifying its position as the biggest selling album this year with cumulative sales of 3.5 million units in the US and 8.5 million units globally. Like I said, hooray for good music!!

And there’s more good music on the Hot 100 Singles Chart as well with Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s ‘Moves Like Jagger‘ topping the chart for a 3rd week, while Adele’s power-ballad  ‘Someone Like You‘ and Foster The People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks‘ stay put at # 2 and # 3 respectively.

Coldplay’s ‘Paradise‘ debuts at # 16, while Tony Bennett becomes the oldest living artist to place a song on the Hot 100 as the 85-year-old’s duet with Amy Winehouse ‘Body And Soul‘ debuts at # 87.
