‘Moves Like Jagger’ Moves Back To # 1 On Billboard Hot 100, Rihanna Gets Her 19th Top 10 Hit

There’s no stopping Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera as ‘Moves Like Jagger‘ moves back to # 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, pushing last week’s topper ‘Someone Like You‘ by Adele down to # 2. Looks like Adele’s lung power could not match up to the combined grooves and moves of Maroon 5 and Aguilera this week, both of whom have every right to heave sighs of relief considering the fact that this song is their first bona-fide smash hit after years. It’s catchy, it’s fun and it deserves that # 1 spot, and I don’t see it going anywhere over the next few weeks.

Rihanna’s ‘Cheers (Drink To That)‘ becomes her 19th Hot 100 Top 10 hit as it moves up a notch to # 10. Ironically though, with all these hits, including 10 Billboard # 1 singles, the same number as Stevie Wonder and Janet Jackson, Rihanna does not have a # 1 album as yet. Kelly Clarkson debuts at # 18 with ‘Mr Know It All‘, the first single from her new album ‘Stronger‘.

Also staying put at # 3 is the single ‘Pumped Up Kicks‘ by Foster The People. The hook is pretty infectious, and lately I’ve been addicted to this one. And it’s been a staple on the charts for the past few weeks, and has managed to become quite the sleeper hit. I’d highly recommend giving this one a listen.

Loads of action on the album charts as well, where surprisingly we have a whole lotta album titles with numbers in them flooding the charts. Lil Wayne’s ‘The Carter 4‘ stays put at # 1 for a second week, while Adele’s ‘21‘ moves up to # 2. The Beatles previous chart topper ‘1‘ makes a grand re-entry within the top 5 at # 4, due to the album being available digitally on iTunes this week. ‘Now 39‘ is at # 8, while Beyonce’s ‘4‘ slips down 2 places to # 9.

Country legend George Strait enters the chart at # 3 with his 17th top ten album ‘Here For A Good Time‘. It’s his 24th # 1 album on the Country Albums Chart. Maroon 5 move back into the top 10 with ‘Hands All Over‘. ‘Moves Like Jagger’ sure has made a major impact!
