Queen Bey unveils the 3rd video from her Billboard # 1 album ‘4‘, for the song ‘1+1‘. (with all the numbers, I wonder if she was inspired by mathematics for the new album).
One of the better songs on the album, the video finds her all shiny, seductive and vulnerable, with a generally stripped down look as she suddenly bursts into tears while unleashing a slightly husky but full voice for this one. Reminds me some classic Aretha Franklin songs from the 70’s.
Urban radio and adult-contemporary stations should pounce on this one. It’s about time she got a hit from the album, as both of the earlier releases ‘Run The World (Girls)‘ and ‘The Best Thing I Never Had‘ had a below average response from radio and did not reach the Top 10 of the US charts. The album’s performing relatively well though, debuting at # 1 on the Billboard as well as the UK Charts. Although it does need a hit single to match up with the sales of Beyoncé’s previous efforts.
Beyoncé’s also scheduled to perform at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28th. I’m expecting a stunning performance from her, cuz when it comes to performing live, this woman delivers.
